TopWhat sort of support does Janison provide?

Our standard licence provides product support by email and telephone between the hours of 8am-6pm Mon-Fri AEST. Other support options can be entered into depending on your needs.

TopDo I need more than one server?

Generally speaking educational environments purchase two servers - one for development of resources and another for delivery.

TopTell me about Janison and accessibility.

All pages provided by Janison are w3C level 1 compliant.

All of our Janison Components that can be embedded in inside your own pages are w3C compliant.

We provide our own unique W3C management tool that allows you to track all web pages under your development and ensure that they are w3C compliant using an independent compliance checker (Bobby)

We allow you to identify students who use a screen reader as part of their student details students with this setting receive versions of Janison Components that work better with the screen reader (use less javascript than normal)

TopCan the platform be integrated with other databases to provide dynamic group generation?

No problem. We can build links either within our database, the web site or as an external utility.

TopDoes the system support the use of all non .html type files?

Yes.

TopHow can I get Janison LMS

There are two main options: you can get a yearly server subscription or have a hosted solution.

TopWhat forms of tracking and reporting are available i.e. access enterprise wide, types of content visited by individuals?

Very extensive tracking of access to services, content, changes to details etc. All stored in the database and easy to analyse. We have a reporting tool that can export data to Excel as well.

TopDoes Janison support streamed media?

Yes.

TopDoes Janison work with load balancing across multiple servers i.e. clustered servers?

Yes it can do. We have built some of our own balancing tools, but new version of Janison are being released that fully supports all load balancing options. Clustering is currently supported.

TopWe are planning for an implementation of Citrix Metaframe Thin Client Server. Can security info be passed from Janison to other systems?

Yes.

TopWe are considering MS LRN for content creation consistent with IMS and SCORM. Is Janison able to easily integrate with that system?

Yes we have some utilities to support IMS and LRN. We intend to provide a fully SCORM integrated LMS to Janison by the end of this year.

TopCan the 'Portal End' (i.e. front end) access to the system have the instant messaging notification appear there for each user?

Yes.

TopCan the administrator export reports to Excel or SQL?

Yes. Most reports provide an option to export directly to CSV or Excel.

TopWhat should I install Janison LMS on?

Janison LMS can be install SQL 2K, 7 and Microsoft Data Engine ( a cut down version of SQL 7 ).

TopCan Janison be used as publishing tool?

Yes Janison has a number of publishing features. The Content Management tools allow you to classify, search and edit content, and these can be re-used across different courses or publishing systems.

TopIs there any maintenance contract for the Janison LMS?

Janison licensing is normally an annual subscription which covers all upgrade releases as part of the subscription. If a perpetual licence is purchased, one year's maintenance is included and a maintenance option is then available.

Janison also has a sophisticated software update feature similar to Windows Update which allows you to keep your version up-to-date at any time by synchronising your software with our Web Server.
